Lisa is a multidisciplinary filmmaker who has been telling stories since beanie babies and Hi8…iykyk! She is based in Toronto by way of Hong Kong and New York and has been working in film & TV, commercial, and digital branded content for 10+ years.

Her work is playful, evoking a sense of joy and delight in her direction inspired by human connections. She excels in conveying emotions to an audience with work that feels quirky but grounded, with a pinch of nostalgia and a handful of humour.

She directed the short film MAMA JANE that premiered at Florida Film Festival and made the rounds through Nashville, Sidewalk, Nitehawk, Portland Film Festival and more. It was featured on short of the week and reviewed by Vulture.com

Whether it’s wrangling a toddler, a pink alien puppet, or a last-minute client note, Lisa brings a calm, collaborative energy to set and a storyteller’s instinct to every frame. Her work spans comedy, lifestyle, branded doc, social-forward and performance-driven spots for clients like Walmart, Google, AmEx, Estée Lauder, CAMH, TD, City of Toronto and many more.

Happy 2020 to everyone. But especially to my friends puppy, Jerry, who is too tired to finish his Mill Street beer. Sometimes I forget that picking up a camera can be a simple and therapeutic activity...Especially when you have such joyful and patient grandparents who willingly stand by the log pile or look off into the distance when asked.

This is a very cool thing to have a movie that I directed reviewed on @vulture by @lkellyclyne ! Thanks so much for the kind words! 🙈💕 Link in bio to read the full review and about the star power of @theheiser who trusted me to direct this story. Mama Jane is premiering today on the world wide web! You can find it featured on @filmshortage or via the link in my bio 🙃

If you would like a laugh, or a cry, or some polarizing opinions on shrimp I highly suggest giving this short a watch. 🍤

Ag So we’re all doing this 10 years later thing? Welp, I’ve got...”12 years earlier!” #tbt to the first time I went to Coney Island. 👀🎡🗽🎢 There’s always money in the pineapple stand. 🍌🌴💸 Me: Babe, this is a very fancy bottle of champagne..!
Him: I know, it’s like I’m asking you to marry me or something. 🙈🥂🍾💍 Another shout out to @nitehawkcinema and all the beautiful people at the Nitehawk Shorts Fest. 📷 - @gabiporter thanks for encouraging my shenanigans on the step and repeat. 💕 Thank you so much @nitehawkcinema for having us. We were so honored to represent one film out of a very high percentage of women lead shorts at this festival. Keep doing what you’re doing. I hope to be back soon. I think I speak for everyone wh
